I work as a real estate agent in Sydney with 20 years’ experience in sales and property management before that. I’ve got a 14-year-old Cavoodle named Toby, who has a great little personality and smart too!

Toby is so much part of the family; follows us around, always sits with one of us when watching television and when one of us is working from home, he likes to sit on the chair behind us.  Our house would be very empty without him.

Unfortunately, I can’t take Toby with me to work as I’m on the road a bit with appointments, but he definitely loves the COVID lockdown as someone is always home.

I think the attitudes of property managers and landlords towards pet friendly housing depends on the type of property and kind of tenants of pets. I’ve dealt with some beautiful tenants with pets, and I wouldn’t hesitate in leasing them property.

I have definitely seen an increase of pets being approved for apartment and community living in recent times.  I encourage more property managers and landlords to include pets in strata schemes and rental agreements.
